Allegheny Township will be “lighting the season” on November 17th from 5:30 – 9 pm. This annual event, which returned last year after a two year hiatus, will be a time for residents to come and begin the festive holiday season. The evening will have fun and games for kids of all ages, including Christmas bingo, scavenger hunts, Christmas song emoji contests, crafts and coloring activities. We expect Santa to be there, with a grand escort up Community Building Road on one of our fire department’s fire trucks. Markle VFD will be selling hot dogs with sauerkraut, nachos and cheese and bottled water. Cookies and hot chocolate available for free to all. Tickets will be sold for raffle baskets contributed by local businesses and clubs, with proceeds going to the Toys For Kiski Kids campaign. And of course, the highlight of the night will be lighting the Allegheny Township Christmas tree, with the fabulous star atop the tree made by our former Public Works Superintendent Shawn Kuhn, who passed away in 2021.
So, come one, come all to light the season with neighbors, friends and family on November 17th!
