Nixle: Connecting Your Community in Emergency Situations

NixleThe Township has registered for the Nixle emergency response system. Nixle is a reverse emergency notification system through which the Township can notify residents of hazardous materials incidents, fires or other public emergencies via text message. In order to participate residents must register their cellular phone number through the service’s website at www.nixle.com. Once registered, residents will receive notification on their phones in the event of any public emergency or hazard. No other messages or solicitations come with the service, only important information regarding emergencies from Township officials. The service costs resident nothing more than standard text messaging rates and is a fast, efficient way of informing the public of dangerous situations as they develop.
