Allegheny Township to Host “Do it Yourself Workshop” for County Comprehensive Plan

Township Officials have announced that a “Do it Yourself” Workshop on the County Comprehensive Plan will be held at the Community Building on February 1, 2017 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The County Comprehensive Plan initiative entitled “Reimagining Our Westmoreland” has been underway for several months now. The County Planning Department has hosted numerous workshops around the county to gather data that will be used to help shape the comprehensive plan and the vision for the County over the next 15 years. The most recent workshops were held at Penn State New Kensington as well as at the Knead Cafe in downtown New Kensington. On February 1, a workshop will be help right here in Allegheny Township in order for our residents to provide their input into our County’s future.

  • Where do you think it makes sense to invest in infrastructure?
  • Are there ample recreational opportunities throughout the County?
  • Where do you see the areas workforce centered?
  • Are Land Use Regulations providing the appropriate outcomes?

Please make sure you write this date down and plan to attend. This visioning only happens once every 10-15 years so let Allegheny Township’s opinion be heard loud and clear. Learn more about the County planning process.
